Ok. Is it just me, or does that scientific name looks like it came from a Coyote-Road Runner cartoon? “Sandwichensis?” Really?
It’s a sparrow, and there are a lot of sparrows out there, so to make sure you have a Savannah look for the bright yellow marking just above the eye and beak. That display will help you differentiate from other sparrows.
